Filipino group offers free Arabic lessons
DOHA: The Filipino Community Association (FILCOA) in Qatar will be offering free basic Arabic lessons to Filipinos at the Qatar Guest Center as part of the FILCOA-Qatar Sportsfest 2009, which will be launched today.
Registration forms for the lessons had been sent by email to Filipino residents and those interested in the lessons were advised to fill the form and submit it by email to Dawud Turla at dawudturla@yahoo.com and Flor Cabrito at floritzd2@yahoo.com.
The free basic Arabic lessons are part of the community outreach programme of FILCOA, the umbrella organisation of various Filipino groups here.
FILCOA will formally open this year’s Sportsfest with several events, including basketball, table tennis, darts, chess and Scrabble. The sporting activities will be held on Fridays from 1.30pm to 6.30pm.
